The Pediatric Clinical Pharmacists of El Paso Children’s Hospital are an integral part of the medical teams that provide care for the children ranging in age from 0 to 18 years of life.
The Department of Pharmacy with the use of PICU, NICU and Hematology/ Oncology Clinical Pharmacist Specialists, serves to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care to the children by way of:
- Complete medication management
- Nutrition support
- Integrated drug distribution
- Provision of education to staff and medical residents
Our Clinical Pharmacists are able to interact with the physician assisting them with the superlative care plans, recommendations concerning most efficacious and cost effective medications for the child. Nursing staff is kept refreshed and updated on pharmacological education with the practice of the Clinical Pharmacists. Furthermore, participating in the care and monitoring of all El Paso Children’s Hospital patients allows the Clinical Pharmacist Specialist to prevent, identify and resolve any medication related issues to ensure that our patient’s are provided the best possible care.
