EL PASO – The children’s hospital in the University Medical Center complex should be up and running in less than a year.
One part of the building will be finished this November and the other, will be done in February, according to UMC CEO James Valenti.
The hospital is funded by a voter-approved bond from 2007. The chair of the UMC board says the hospital is a long time coming.
“We are the largest city in the United States without an independent self standing children’s hospital, so the need is there,” said Dr. Jose Luna.
