East Point students visited the new Children’s Hospital of El Paso Texas on Feb. 16. The students brought furry gifts of comfort to the young patients. After a three month learning adventure working with Build -a-Bear, teachers, parents and the community, the students were the first group of students to visit the new hospital. They were greeted by Lawrence G.Duncan, Chief Executive Officer of the hospital.
Although the students could not actually present the bears to the patients, a hospital representitive gave a bear to a young on the students behalf. The hospital personnel were so amazed by these caring young students. They received many accolades from hospital visiters as well. Students were treated to a romp in the “Enchanted Garden” and a snack in the Children’s Bistro.
