On Feb. 24, my granddaughter Imani suffered a horrific accident in the backyard of her home. The structure of her swing set toppled.
Imani fell to the ground and a beam weighing 200 pounds came down on her face, breaking tender bones, knocking out her teeth and changing her life and ours forever.
The ambulance took Imani to the El Paso Children’s Hospital because she was a level-one trauma, and this hospital was equipped to treat her.
From the moment we arrived at the hospital, we were treated with respect and compassion. No words can express our gratitude to all who took care of Imani.
To the ER staff, X-ray techs, Resp. techs, R.N., the doctors who did the surgery and to the doctors who later did surgery to repair her broken face, thank you seems small compared to what they did for Imani.
Our family will forever be indebted to this hospital. Never have I seen a more dedicated and competent hospital staff than this one.
El Paso should be proud and thankful this hospital is here for our kids.
If you need this hospital, may you walk away as satisfied and thankful as my family did.
