Dozens of Kids at the El Paso Children’s Hospital Benefit From Gifts
EL PASO – Sometimes, when we learn about childhood cancer, we feel helpless. However, one local organization is changing that.
They’re giving out cheerful-looking pillowcases to kids with cancer. Dozens of sick kids at the El Paso Children’s Hospital got one today, from the non-profit group, ConKerr Cancer.
“It was started in 2002 by Cindy Kerr, whose son was diagnosed with childhood cancer. She noticed that every time she brought a pillowcase into his room, it would brighten up his life, and she continued to make them through the children and the hospital, and it’s just snowballed from there,” said Terri Lewis, from ConKerr Cancer-El Paso.
ConKerr Cancer has delivered more than 400,000 cheerful pillowcases around the world since 2002.
