Elsa Borrego, Board Chair

Elsa Borrego is a proud, born & raised El Paso “boomerang.” She returned to El Paso in 2016 after living in San Antonio and Phoenix for 13 years. A seasoned Human Resources leader with over 20 years of experience, Elsa is Principal Consultant of her
own consulting firm. She partners with mission-driven organizations to design people-first strategies that strengthen workplace culture and improves the employee experience. A certified executive coach and culture shaping/leadership development facilitator, Elsa is passionate about building healthier, stronger communities by elevating our workplaces.
Elsa’s career includes senior leadership roles with Helen of Troy, GECU and El Pasoan’s Fighting Hunger locally, and she has led global training teams across the U.S., Europe & Asia for Bank of America and USAA. She is a proud graduate of Burges High School, earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Management and master’s degree in Adult Education & Training from the University of Phoenix. A graduate of Leadership El Paso Class XL, Elsa has served on the El Paso Chamber’s Board as well as the City of El Paso’s Civil Service Commission.
She currently serves as Board Chair for El Paso Children’s Hospital, is President of Executive Forum and is a board member for Nusenda Credit Union. She is deeply committed to giving back to the community by volunteering to support nonprofits, mentoring women, and championing El Paso as a great place to live & work.
