Visiting A Patient During Their Stay
We continue to work with our staff and physicians to educate them on appropriate procedures and will work with the El Paso Public Health Department on any future public health concerns.
Visitor Guidelines
If you are visiting a patient staying at EPCH, we ask that you follow these guidelines:
- Please wear a mask over your face and nose at all times.
- You must report to the information desk for a screening first before visiting with a patient.
- Guests require a color-coded pass and must be visible at all times.
- Do not visit a patient if you are feeling ill or have been exposed to contagious illnesses.
- Visitation may be restricted during flu season or times of outbreak, pandemic, or high community transmission of diseases.
- Visitors under 14 years old are restricted during flu season.
- Visitors under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
The safety of our patients, staff, and providers is our utmost priority. Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe!
Visiting Hours
General visiting hours are from 8:00am to 8:00pm.
Parents/Guardians or their designee can visit their child at any time.

Patient Gifts
Live plants and flowers are not allowed in the hospital. They can let bacteria, molds, and fungus grow.
El Paso Children’s Hospital gift shop is located on the first floor, near the main entrance.

Monday – Friday: 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Saturdays: 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Closed on Sundays

Valuable Items
We recommend that all personal valuables be left at home, including expensive clothing, electronic equipment, large sums of money, and valuable jewelry. If needed, you may drop these items in the Guest Service safe during your stay.

Our security team is available 24/7, 365 days a year to assist in any security-related issues or concerns.
Bistro, Cafeteria, and Java Stop
The UMC Cafeteria and the Bistro are located in the basement; the Java Stop is located on the first floor near the main entrance.
Please check with the nurse before taking food to a patient, as they may be on a restricted diet during their stay.
