Asthma is a chronic lung condition that causes narrowing and inflammation of a child's airways. It can be triggered by dust, exercise, pet dander, pollen, viral lung infections, breathing very cold air and more. During an asthma attack, the airways constrict, which can cause wheezing, chest tightness and make it hard to breathe. While most cases of asthma can be controlled through inhaled medication (an asthma inhaler), particularly severe or difficult-to-control asthma attacks can become life-threatening.
This is an itchy, red rash that can develop if a child's skin reacts to something that has touched them. There are two major types of contact dermatitis, including irritant contact dermatitis (caused by exposure to irritants like soap, chemicals, urine in a diaper, etc.) and allergic contact dermatitis, which is caused by an allergic reaction to something a child touched (like latex, poison ivy, antibiotic cream, adhesive bandages, nickel, etc).

Also called sinusitis, sinus infections are infections of the moist membranes that line the sinuses, which are air-filled pockets in the skull behind the forehead and cheeks. During a sinus infection, the sinuses can become blocked by swelling and fill with mucus, leading to pressure, facial pain and further infection. Viruses are the most common cause of sinus infections, but they're sometimes caused by bacteria as well.
