This program serves the needs of cancer survivors who are at least five years after diagnosis and/or two years after treatment. During their treatment, children with cancer may experience invasive surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy and blood transfusions, which can put them at risk for a variety of medical issues later on. Unfortunately, continuity of care is often lost when cancer treatment ends or as children get older.

All newly-diagnosed cancer patients have the details of their case presented at a weekly collaborative "tumor board" meeting that includes pediatric oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, surgeons, orthopedic surgeons, nurses, pharmacists, child life specialists and representatives of other subspecialties relevant to the patient's case. Issues discussed include the clinical presentation of the cancer, physical, radiological and pathological findings and staging and risk factors. Relevant protocols and current literature are presented and a multidisciplinary treatment plan is developed.
