Mya Melendez – NICU Testimonial

Mya was born in Las Cruces, New Mexico, weighing only one pound two ounces! She was then transported to El Paso Children’s Hospital, where she spent a total of 165 days in the Level IV NICU. As a respiratory therapist, Mya’s mom was familiar of the neonatal environment, but it was a completely different experience when her own baby was a patient!

“I am extremely grateful to the transport team who picked us up from Memorial Medical Center and provided her with the best care on the way to El Paso Children’s,” she said. “Thanks to the nursing staff, respiratory staff and all the physicians for the excellent care, love and compassion they gave us. I am amazed by her progress and strength every day!”
