Therapeutic Arts
SUNFLOWER BANK
Through a collaboration with El Paso Children’s Hospital Foundation and generous community partners, we are pleased to present art displays throughout the community consisting of artwork created by pediatric oncology patients at El Paso Children’s Hospital. The mission of the Therapeutic Arts program is to provide patients and their families with the opportunity for self-expression, empowerment, and healing moments through the arts. Art is particularly helpful to relieve stress in children who are undergoing chemotherapy treatment or transfusions for chronic illness or blood disorders. Creativity can be a vital resource in helping patients to cope with an acute illness. Art and healthcare go hand-in-hand as art enhances the healing environment and overall treatment experience.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The art featured in this exhibit was created through the therapeutic arts program at El Paso Children’s Hospital. participation in the therapeutic arts program helps patients and families with emotional support and encourages optimum development of children facing a broad range of challenging experiences. through the therapeutic arts program, they can create an environment of hope and healing for not just patients, but entire families.
The therapeutic arts program is funded solely through El Paso Children’s Hospital Foundation by generous donations and grants. We are proud to partner with the Sunflower Bank, the El Paso International Airport and Southwest University to share these amazing works of art.
